Kun je Joomla meertalig maken? www.g17l.com is een show-case hoe van Joomla een meertalige CMS is te maken.

Dat kan natuurlijk ook met de topper JoomFish, maar het moest toch eenvoudiger kunnen? JoomFish is heel erg goed, maar ook erg complex.

www.g17l.com maakt gebruik van extensie M17n samen met hacks op de Joomla .php files. Er worden geen extra tabellen aan de database toegevoegd. Alle gerelateerde artikelen vind je onder menu item LINGUA. Er staan ook een aantal artikelen over OpenSource software. Er waren wat voorbeeld artikelen nodig. En daarbij.... deze software is ook wel errug goede software...

Beta Patch PHP5.3.x

It seems the current version of Multilang M17n is not performing under PHP5.3.x as it should.

Now under testing on the test-server of g17l.com is the béta-patch. It looks it does the trick allright. Therefore this patch is published to enable users to test the patch also..

Please return your comments. If the experience of the users is positive the patch will be incorporated in the normal stable install version.

How it works?

Just download the patch, copy-paste it to your mod-mainmenu folder using ftp... this should do the trick. (of course you need to have the extension installed first...:) )

SEO/SEF

We have been pointed to a way of enabling SEO/SEF using Multilang M17n. This really seems to work.

We trust this so much we actually did it on the live g17l.com website... it's not implemented in the download. It's more or less for those who are not afraid to do some recoding the index.php file.

New looks

We really liked to have some new looks.... not that we disliked the old one but something fresh would do nice. We kept the frog and added the dictionaries....

What we are planning for the future? A new way of managing Multilang M17n and SEO support.... as these are most wanted. But be patient we are only doing this on our spare time. As said... we're only volunteers.
