Inkscape is an open source "vector graphics editor". With almosit the same features as Illustrator, CorelDraw or Xara X in using and creating Scalable Vector Graphics (.svg). It also is capable of converting .svg drawings in .eps! Also very easy and handy is a integrated tool to transform raster images in vector based images.
In combination with Scribus this app can bot be missed in your pre press workshop.
