Is it possible to make Joomla! speak more than one language? www.g17l.com is a show-case how to make Joomla a multilingual CMS.

Ok, it's possible using top-extension JoomFish. But it had to be easier than that; JoomFish is very good, but also very complex.

www.g17l.com is using extension M17n together with some hacks on the Joomla .php files. No extra tables will be added to your database. You can find all related articles under menu item LINGUA. You can also find some articles regarding OpenSource software. I needed some examples to show how multilingual this showcase is and you have to admit some of these packages are very good!

SEO/SEF

We have been pointed to a way of enabling SEO/SEF using Multilang M17n. This really seems to work.

We trust this so much we actually did it on the live g17l.com website... it's not implemented in the download. It's more or less for those who are not afraid to do some recoding the index.php file.

New looks

We really liked to have some new looks....  not that we disliked the old one but something fresh would do nice. We kept the frog and added the dictionaries....

What we are planning for the future? A new way of managing Multilang M17n and SEO support.... as these are most wanted. But be patient we are only doing this on our spare time. As said... we're only volunteers.

Another one... and again?!

So it happens we were on holidays, two new updates came out. Nr 13 and 14. Well anyway Multilang M17n works with both.

Please uninstall Multilang M17n first then update your Joomla and afterwards reinstall Multilang M17n again.
